Full time evening opportunities available, responsibilities include:

To maintain staff safety as it relates to proper decontamination of instrumentation and equipment.
o Proper attire worn at all times when working in the decontamination area.
o Prioritizes all instrumentation and equipment for decontamination.
o Disassembles all instrumentation for proper decontamination.
o Inspects decontamination instruments/equipment before sending to assembling area.
o Properly sorts instrumentation and selects the proper processing mechanisms (manual and mechanical) to insure the integrity of and prevent damage to the items.
o Operates washer/decontaminator, sonic washers and all other equipment in the decontamination area.
Instrument station: to identify, disassemble, inspect and reassemble equipment/instruments used in treatment of patients.
o Inspects all instruments for cleanliness, malfunctions and etching.
o Always uses instrument listings for kit assembly.
o Insures QA forms are used on all instrument kits as defined.
o Knows where/how to find information for unknown equipment.
o Ensures all peel pouched items are properly packaged and labeled correctly.
o Utilizes instrument tracking computer software to document in the instrument assembly area.
o Locates missing instrumentation and replaces or orders instrumentation as necessary.
Sterilization, Wrapping/Loading Station: Demonstrates a variety of repetitive skills and tasks requiring manual dexterity and the rationale for each.
o Ensures the cleanliness of equipment, uses appropriate size wrap and uses chemical and biological indicators as necessary.
o Ensures instrument kits are properly identified with assemblied QA card and internal chemical indicator.
o Ensures equipment/kits are properly labeled and recorded on sterilizer record log.
o Sterilizes all items according to manufacturer's instructions.
o Operates all sterilization equipment (steam sterrad and sterris) and documents all functions using instrument tracking software.
o Validates sterilization process by reading, interpreting, and documenting all mechanical, chemical and biological indicators.
Operating Room Station: Maintains the standard of patient care and staff safety as it relates to proper decontamination of instruments and equipment.
o Decontaminates, sterilizes and records all operating room instruments needed for next cases according to manufacturer's instructions.
o Runs diagnostic tests on Steris Machines, biologicals for autoclaves and records per procedure.
o Monitors Operating Room cases to anticipate turnovers for instrument needs.
o Completes quality checks as assigned.
Endoscopy Department Station: Maintains and assures the standard of patient care and staff safety as it relates to proper decontamination of endoscopes and related endoscopy equipment.
o Ensures proper protective equipment is worn during cleaning and disinfection of all endoscopes and equipment.
o Cleans, decontaminates and high-level disinfects scopes according to manufacturer's instructions.
o Ensures all endoscopes are properly leak tested prior to cleaning and disinfection.
o Monitors Endoscopy cases to anticipate endoscopes and equipment needs.
o Has the ability to detect, properly decontaminate and send for repair, all damaged flexible endoscopes.
Requirements/Qualifications: To maintain and assure the standard of patient care and staff safety as it relates to education and certification
o Certification is obtained within one year of successfully completing probationary period.
o Certification is maintained and a copy of current certification is maintained in personal file.
o Mandatory education is completed yearly.

Qualifications

•Over 1 year sterile processing experience or equivalent

•Licensure and/or Certifications Required
•CRCST within one year of successfully completing Introductory period.
