GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Department of Neurosurgery, in collaboration with Patient Care Services, provides comprehensive, compassionate, and technologically advanced patient- and family-centered neurosurgical care, including the most advanced diagnostics and treatments, education of future leaders in the field, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical research to develop new therapies.
Under the direction of the Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs for Neurosurgery, the designated Nursing Director, and the Senior Administrative Director for Neurosurgery, the APP Team Lead is accountable for the delivery of consistent, high quality patient care, promoting the development and satisfaction of the Department’s advance practice providers (APP) as well as allied health staff as applicable, identifying operating efficiencies, reviewing educational competencies, and ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory policies and standards of practice. The lead APP effectively integrates assigned staff into the overall clinical infrastructure of the Department to develop collaborative interdisciplinary teams within each subspecialty.

Qualifications
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
·Demonstrates ability in domain of Advanced Practice Provider.
·Ability to work in matrixed organization and leadership structure.
·Strong leadership, organizational, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and desire to grow in a leadership capacity.
·Ability to coach and mentor with the ability to coordinate and assess the work of others
·Flexibility, problem-solving skills and involvement in change management.
·Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clinical documentation.
·Ability to perform in fast-pace clinical setting.
·Must possess the ability to function clinically both as an autonomous provider and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
·Able to work with confidential information, clinical recordkeeping and use computer applications such as Epic and Microsoft Office.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
·Current licensure as an advanced practice provider in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
·Certification as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
·Prescriptive authority for controlled substances in Massachusetts and DEA registration for controlled substances.
EDUCATION:
- Master’s or Doctoral Degree in nursing or physician assistant studies
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 4 - 6 years of experience in APP practice required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead with a transformational leadership approach.
- Previous team leadership experience preferred.
